AC Compressor - Bypassing for Emergency in Field:

GM part numbers for a pulley and bracket that can be mounted in place of the AC compressor:

  • Pulley - 12556504
  • Bracket - 10244209
  • Bolts - 11515767

As for belt length, the parts guy at Lynch & I talked about this. He assured me the same belt would work. Could the extra bracket compensate for a smaller pulley? The AC Comp pulley is 4" in diameter & the subsutitute pulley is 3.5".

As for tension/misalignment -- looking at the belt tensioner, it is positioned where it is supposed to be -- mid-range. Also, looking at the belt, it appears to be running straight -- no scientific measurements, just eyeball.
