Oil Leaks - Tracking Them Down:

Possible causes of oil leaks:

Oil pressure sending unit
Oil Pressure sensor
Faulty engine oil cover cap
Valve cover gaskets (common source of leaks on 5.7L Diesel engines)
Head gasket
Oil filter attachment point
Oil pan gasket
Oil pan bolt

Also:

Pressure clean the engine after spraying it with Gunk. Then most auto parts stores sell a leak detector kit where you add a fluorescent dye to the oil, run the engine, then examine it with UV light. This is how to detect difficult leaks.
